One Drive Pty Ltd (ACN 681 025 936, one-drive.com.au) provides accident replacement vehicles to not-at-fault drivers across Australia. This policy explains how we collect, use, disclose and protect your personal information, consistent with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).

What we collect

When you submit an enquiry or become a customer, we may collect:

  • Your name, email address, phone number and state of residence.
  • Details of your accident, including the date, time, location and circumstances, and the details of the other party and their insurer.
  • Your driver licence details and vehicle details, where needed to arrange a replacement vehicle.
  • Any other information you choose to provide in your enquiry message or during your dealings with us.

Why we collect it

We collect your information to:

  • Assess your eligibility for an accident replacement vehicle.
  • Arrange, deliver and manage your replacement vehicle.
  • Recover the costs of your replacement vehicle from the at-fault party or their insurer.
  • Communicate with you about your enquiry, your hire and our services.
  • Meet our legal and regulatory obligations.

Disclosure

We disclose personal information only where it is necessary to provide our service or as required by law. This may include disclosure to:

  • The at-fault party's insurer, strictly for the purpose of recovering the costs of your replacement vehicle.
  • Repairers and assessors involved in the repair of your vehicle.
  • Our legal representatives, where recovery action requires it.
  • Service providers who help us operate our business (for example, secure IT and communications providers), under obligations of confidentiality.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not disclose it for third-party marketing.

Storage & security

We take reasonable steps to protect the personal information we hold from misuse, interference, loss, and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. Information is stored on secure systems with access limited to staff who need it to do their jobs. We retain personal information only for as long as it is needed for the purposes described above, or as required by law, after which it is securely destroyed or de-identified.

Access & correction

You may request access to the personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct it if it is inaccurate, out of date or incomplete. We will respond to access and correction requests within a reasonable time and will not charge you for making a request. If we decline a request, we will tell you why in writing and explain how you can complain about that decision.

If you believe we have mishandled your personal information, please contact us first so we can try to resolve the matter. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC).
